This place is for people who want to experience the Amazon without adversity. The cabins are very well built, with lovely handmade touches in wood and bamboo. The main accommodation, which is the only one with electricity, has a nice bar and restaurant area. The food was delicious, well prepared and fresh. It is evident that there is an effort to get fresh products for the refuge and to do more. The guides were very knowledgeable and really nice and informative.

What should we know about insects and malaria?
We have not had any malaria problems in our area until now. Therefore you do not need an injection of prophylaxis to come to our cabins. In other areas of the Amazon such as Coca or Lago Agrio there could be these malaria problems, as well as in the north of Esmeraldas. Actually the absence of malaria does not mean there are no mosquitoes in the area! Therefore it is best to protect yourself because they can be quite annoying. The mosquitoes that bite in the area are not dangerous only cause a very annoying feeling.

Are medical services available?
We have a first aid kit in the lodge, and in cases of some type of minimum emergency we have a car to transport passengers to the city of Tena where there is a large hospital. In case of more serious illnesses, you must return to Quito.
