Located in the canton Naranjal, Guayas province 40 kilometers from the city of Guayaquil, this reserve is one of the most important in the country due to the amount of freshwater birds that inhabit the site. Upon reaching booking tourists do a canoe trip for 40 minutes in which they can visualize the formation of the largest in the Pacific coast of South America estuary.

After the visit to Mangroves Churute we went to a farm cocoa plantation where we will learn about the types of planting, a bit of history of the estate, will walk through the plantations and elaborate homemade chocolate.


Manglares Churute Ecological Reserve is located only 50 kilometers from Guayaquil, with 38,000 hectares of mangroves and 12,000 of forest.  It is one of the most important mangrove reserves of the country.


At 8h00 AM your naturalist guide will pick you up in the lobby of the hotel of your choice. During the one hour ride, you will observe banana plantations, cocoa bean & sugar canes on both sides of the road.  Upon arrival, you will register in the office and transfer to pier; in this secondary road you will observe tropical dry forest birds and the country side.


You will board the motor canoe that will take you to the estuaries; during the navigation you will observe some crab catchers & fishermen and several spices of birds as Neo Tropic Cormorant, King Fisher, Osprey, several herons among other the Roseate Spoonbill is certainly the Queen of the mangrove forest.
