This lovely 12 hectare finca (farm) has been in the Lara family for 65 years. Last century, government-owned mangrove forests were divided into 12 hectare plots and granted to farmers to encourage settlement. Through the generations, the Lara family has created not only abundance of crops…cacao, mangos, dragon fruit, plantains, lemon grass, spices…they are blending their farming expertise with adventure tourism in nearby Manglares-Churute Ecological Reserve. The reserve encompasses 50,000 hectares of meandering mangrove waterways, dry tropical forest and salt flats. Lara son, Jiro, is a guide in the reserve that served as his backyard while growing up


Cacao Farm is a typical family farm on the country side of Guayaquil city, located only about 32 miles away, surrounded by Churute ecological reserve hills and the Churute River. The farm has rice and cacao plantation, cacao green house, mango, papaya, dragon fruit, avocado, bread fruit trees, as well as tomato, green pepper, lemon grass, etc. most of these will be the ingredients for your lunch and most of them are organic products.


A typical lunch will be serving in Cacao & Mango Farm where you will know all the cacao & chocolate process from the plantation to its preparation, where also you can enjoy a delicious chocolate cup.

If you cancel at least 10 days in advance of the tour departure, it won’t incur in any cancellation fee. If you cancel between 5 and 9 days in advance of the tour departure, there is a 50% cancellation fee. If you cancel within 4 days of the tour departure, there is a 100% cancellation fee.
